Colors.

Colors are symbols (represent ideas), in different groups carry different meanings.

In this article i'll summarize colors' meanings for Buddhism & for Witchcraft.
(Depending on School/Tradition colors' meaning and symbolism may vary).


Later i should also add Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn's colours' meanings as well.

WhiteCalming Activity, Rest and Thinking, Purity, Learning, Knowledge and Longevity.Bone, extended exposure to the hot sun or ice, snow and intense cold. White is especially beneficial for candles and spells to initiate new projects. White is traditionally the color of the moon.
YellowEnriching Activity, Wealth (Yellow Zambala), Restraining and Nourishing. Color of the Earth, yellow denotes Stability and Grounded Nature.Yellow is the color ofthe Sun. It's a joyous, happy color indicative of growth, communication and intellect, a color of Spiritual Harmony. Yellow is associated with romance as it's the color most frequently associated with the most powerful spirits of love.
RedFascinating Activity, Subjugation and Summoning, Life-Force, Preservation, Fire, and Sacred Things or Places. It is believed to be a protective color.Luck, Birth and Death. Blood indicating injury and death, menstrual blood, whose arrival indicates that the gates of fertility are open. Strength, Vitality, Health, Passion, Courage and Sex. Pink demonstrates red's gentler aspects. Pink is especially beneficial for spells involving children and new romance.
BlueFascinating Activity, Tranquility, Ascension, the Infinite, Purity, and Healing. Over all, the color represents Wisdom.The most important Protective color, particularly in regard to thresholds. Assists in breaking the chains of bad habits. Color Protects, Heals and Relaxes. Blue provides Peace and Tranquility. Blue soothes Psychic and Emotional Pain, in particular, traumatic stress.
PurpleMysticism.Power, Color of Royalty and Spiritual Authority, also associated with sexual pleasure.
GreenExorcism, Youth, Vigor, Action, and Harmony. It also represents Balance.Wealth, Fertility, prosperity and growth. The Power to Heal. It has close associations with blue and there are many ambiguous shades, such as teal or aquamarine that blend their energies. However, while blue is used to soothe Psychic and Emotional trauma, green is resolutely Physical.
BrownBodhi Tree, under which Historical Buddha reached Enlightenment.Stability and Gravity, the literal kind, the kind that keeps you attached to Earth. Brown is the color that embodies Hard Reality; it's an essential color for those who practice extensive psychic or intellectual work because it keeps you grounded. Heals, Nurtures, Empowers and is the color of creative potential.
BlackProtecting Activity, Power, Killing and Anger.Fertility spells, healing those who are chronically ill; Repelling Evil Intentions; Psychic Shields.


i did not find this explaination anywhere, but in my practice i'll use the colour of Silver to represent Mirror, Reflective Mind, Spiritual Aspirations, Modest Nobility & Mysterious Moon.
