This book was written by Annie Besant, important student of Madame Helena Blavatsky.
Madame Blavatsky, was a Russian and American mystic and writer who co-founded the Theosophical Society (Theosophy means 'God's Wisdom'; Theo: God/Godly, Sophia: Wisdom) in 1875. She gained an international following as the primary founder of Theosophy as a belief system. Later in her life, Madame Blavatsky converted to Buddhism.
This book has important spiritual topics as Planes of Existence and of Unity Underlying all Religions.
Planes of existence explained include:
- The Physical Plane,
- The Astral Plane,
- The Mental Plane,
- The Buddhic and Nirvanic Planes.
... i do not know (yet) if there are other planes, and how these are called.
As for Unity underlying all Religions, i have following Truth definition:
There are also other topics in this book, including the topics of Karma and Reincarnation.

As a side note:
The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, Order of the Magicians, has it’s roots in the Theosophical Society.
Knowledge about Planes of Existence has it’s uses in Spiritual and Magickal Practices.
